December is National Impaired Driving Prevention Month. Pleasantville Strong worked with Mary Ann Flatley, K-12 SEL Counselor to demonstrate the dangers of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Students from the HS were able to try on Goggles from DrugBusters, that simulated a .08 Blood Alcohol level or being High on Marijuana. They were then encouragde to do activities like walk a straight line or use a steering wheel to test motor skills. Others tried to play games or just talk to each other. It didn’t take long for them to realize, it would be very dangerous to get behind the wheel under the influence of any amount of alcohol or drugs.
